The festive season is upon us, and when you’re as much of a foodie as we are it’s hard not to get over-excited about trying all the festive treats that our favourite eateries have created this Christmas. We took it upon ourselves to go on a foodie trail around The Harvey Centre to bring you the best festive treats to try this Christmas. Enjoy.
If the sight of Starbuck’s festive holiday cups give you Christmas cheer, you’re going to love this new addition to their festive menu. A soft cranberry studded panini, filled with turkey, smoked bacon with cranberry gravy and stuffing bread sauce. If that doesn’t get your tastebuds tingling, we don’t know what will.
For those who like to tailor design their own festive sandwich to suit their tastes, Subway’s new Deluxe Festive Feast is right up your street. Like all subs, begin with choosing your favourite bread, then it’s filled with Butter Marinated Turkey Breast with a Sage and Onion Stuffing seasoning and streaky bacon with the seasonal classic, Cranberry sauce. Finish this deluxe holiday sub with a seasonal Salted Caramel cookie.
Christmas is a time to indulge, and what better way to do this than with a Cream’s festive freakshake? These calorific sensations will hit that sweet tooth craving.
Choose from Choco Freeze, a magical blend of Chocolate chip Gelato, Malteasers Gelato, Creams soft serve vanilla ice cream, milk chocolate sauce, wafer and chocolate shavings.
Or, maybe a Ginger Brrr is more your thing, made from Salted Caramel Gelato and Spiced Cinnamon gelato, thick toffee sauce, wafer, fudge cubes and a Gingerbread man.
For those who prefer a fruitier flavour, go for the Chittering Cane, a festive blend of Bubblegum Gelato, Strawberry Cheesecake Gelato, Creams soft serve vanilla ice cream, bubblegum & strawberry sauce and a seasonal candy cane.
A traditional favourite is a festive character biscuit and Couzen’s Bakery is not disappointing this year with their deliciously iced snowman cookies, and glacier Cherry dressed Reindeer biscuits. The question is which one will you go for?
It isn’t Christmas without a festive Snowball, and BB’s Coffee has brought out a Snowball muffin. A delicious muffin made from Coconut, Raspberry Jam and Meringue. If Coconut isn’t your thing, the Gingerbread muffin is just as delightful and comes with a chocolate gingerbread man to finish it off.
The festive favourites from Starbuck’s have returned, hoorah! Catch up with a friend over a Gingerbread Latte, the festive flavours of ginger will leave you feeling all warm and excited for Christmas. Not, a fan of coffee opt for a Fudge Hot Chocolate instead, a creamy hot chocolate topped with fudge whipped cream, and finished with a gold chocolate curl.
We hope you enjoy trying out these best festive treats as much as we did. Yum.
