The Harvey Centre is pleased to announce the reopening of the Phoenix Resource Centre, on Friday 8th April 2022. The Phoenix Resource Centre is a not-for profit organisation that works to re-distribute surplus arts, crafts and recyclable products that would otherwise have gone to landfill. They provide a platform and support for the local community through volunteering opportunities, supported studies and craft workshops.
The Phoenix Resource Centre sources new items in bulk from various industries, in bulk and redistributes them to other charities, schools, youth groups, hospitals, art groups, and local organisations. The resources are then used by the groups in art and craft activities, education, design and development, fundraising and more. They also work in partnership with Harlow Council to host and run the Makers markets and craft workshops.
Members of the public wanting to use the Centre can simply purchase a token for a large or small trolley and are then able to fill it up with new arts and craft materials and repurposed resources. A large trolley costs £15.00 with a small one costing £7.50 (think, your local shopping type). The Resource Centre has no membership or restrictions on the number of visits.
