THE HARVEY CENTRE COFFEE CLUB – MEET THE GUESTS!

We’ve been hosting the Rainbow Services FREE coffee club, here at the Harvey Centre, since June 2019, so we thought it was about time we caught up with some of the regulars to find out why they come.

The coffee club runs every Thursday morning between 10am and 2pm on the first floor, next to the Management Suite here at The Harvey Centre.

John Jordan

Do you live in Harlow and how often do you visit the Centre?

I come from Welwyn Garden City most Thursdays with my wife.

How did you hear about the Coffee Club?

A lady who works here caught me downstairs and asked if I would like to join. I said I’ll give it a go and that was it!

When did you first start coming to the Coffee Club?

This is my 4th or 5th time coming along and I’m really enjoying it. It has really made me feel welcome. Me and my wife both get the bus in the morning, and when we arrive, we go our separate ways. I head up here for a tea, whilst she does her shopping. I like to leave her too it! She doesn’t want to drag me around, so it works well for both of us.

Why do you come to the Coffee Club?

I was told I’d get free tea! It’s always a bonus because all other shops where it used to be £1, some are now as expensive as £2 for a cup of tea. You have to be careful where you’re going nowadays. But it’s really nice to meet people too.

Have you made many friends since you’ve been coming?

Oh yes absolutely! You see the same people every week and it’s nice. People sometimes have a lot they want to get off their chest, and I think this is the perfect place. If you can sit through and let someone talk, they are just happy for someone to listen.
