WHAT'S ON

Check out Adunni’s

Adunni’s is all about bringing the authentic tastes of the African to Essex, infusing every dish with the warmth and spice of their heritage. Whether you’re craving the sizzle of jerk chicken, the comfort or rice and peas, or the sweetness of plantains, the menu is a testament to the rich culinary tapestry of the African.

Adunni’s is the dream of Peter Cole, a passionate food enthusiast dedicated to sharing the food, music, and culture of Nigeria.

“It has been my dream and passion for many years to share the food, music and culture of Nigeria. I am delighted to have this chance at Adunni’s. The restaurant and bar is named after my late mother, and her name literally means ‘Joy to have’. This is what I hope my patrons will experience when they visit the restaurant”

Adunni’s menu showcases authentic African and Caribbean cuisine including Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat.

Peter’s love for food is rooted in family tradition. Having lived in England, Germany, Holland, and Nigeria, his time in Nigeria deepened his appreciation for its cuisine. His grandmothers, both skilled cooks, passed down treasured family recipes.

“My grandmas on both sides were excellent cooks, one of which even owned a thriving restaurant in the former capital (Lagos) and the other hosted many events, which I was lucky enough to participate in. My parents shared their love of Nigerian food with the family, so I have been extremely fortunate to learn the family recipes been passed down through the generations. Sharing food and hospitality is a big part of who I am and how I engage with people in my life.”

At Adunni’s, food is about hospitality, tradition, and community. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, Peter and his team are happy to guide you through the menu to find the perfect dish.

For an authentic African dining experience in Essex, Adunni’s is the place to be!
